As we continue to expand our digital capabilities, we're looking for a driven, results-focused Full-Stack Developer / Shopify Expert to take ownership of our site performance and conversion rates. This is an opportunity to work directly on high-traffic Shopify stores, make fast, meaningful changes, and directly impact revenue. Role Overview The Full-Stack Developer / Shopify Expert will be responsible for proactively identifying, testing, and implementing improvements to our Shopify storefronts and landing pages with a sharp focus on boosting conversion rates, site speed, and customer experience. This is not a hands-off, request-only position — we’re seeking someone who lives and breathes optimization and thrives in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment. Your success will be measured by tangible improvements to conversion rates, customer experience scores, and overall site performance metrics. This is a full-time, remote role, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere while staying closely aligned with our growth-focused team. Key Responsibilities - Identify and implement front-end and back-end improvements to Shopify-based websites and landing pages - Run A/B tests, user experience optimizations, and CRO experiments independently - Optimize page speed, mobile responsiveness, and checkout flow performance - Build custom features, sections, and pages within Shopify’s Liquid framework and via third-party apps as needed - Analyze site metrics, heatmaps, and customer behavior tools to proactively surface opportunities for improvement - Work closely with design, marketing, and product teams to translate ideas into functional, tested, high-performance web solutions - Stay up to date on Shopify platform updates, app ecosystem changes, and eCommerce CRO best practices - Maintain clean, well-documented code and follow internal development workflows - Track, report, and iterate based on the results of tests and site improvement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Conversion Rate Lift – Measurable improvement in store conversion rates over baseline - Site Speed Performance – Maintain or improve core web vitals and page load times - Implementation Velocity – Speed of independently completing and deploying optimizations - Testing Cadence – Number of proactive A/B tests and optimization initiatives launched per quarter - Bug Resolution Time – Timely identification and resolution of site issues - Documentation and Code Quality – Maintain clean, organized, and well-commented code for handoffs and scalin Success Benchmarks (30-60-90 Days) First 30 Days - Complete onboarding on brand sites, tech stack, and optimization priorities - Audit existing Shopify setups and propose immediate quick-win improvements - Take ownership of resolving minor site issues and performance bugs - Launch your first A/B test or optimization project with measurable results - Implement key CRO improvements to landing pages or product pages First 60 Days - Collaborate with marketing on a conversion-focused landing page refresh - Deliver measurable conversion rate improvements from your initiatives - Establish a consistent optimization and testing pipeline - Become the go-to technical resource for Shopify development and CRO implementatio Required Skills & Qualifications Must-Have Skills: - 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience - Proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Shopify APIs - Experience with Shopify theme customization, app integrations, and custom section builds - Proven track record of driving measurable eCommerce conversion rate improvements - Strong understanding of website performance optimization and core web vitals - Ability to independently run A/B tests, analyze results, and iterate - Detail-oriented with clean, organized coding practices - Proactive, driven, and ownership-focused — thrives without constant oversight Nice-to-Have Skills: - Experience with Klaviyo, Google Analytics, and heatmapping tools (e.g., Clarity, Hotjar, Lucky Orange) - Familiarity with headless Shopify setups or Shopify Hydrogen - UI/UX design skills or ability to collaborate closely with design teams - Experience in eCommerce growth marketing environment Who Should Apply Apply if you: - Love working in fast-paced, high-ownership eCommerce environments - Constantly look for ways to improve site performance and conversions - Prefer proactively testing ideas over waiting for requests - Are organized, self-directed, and results-focused Do not apply if you: - Require constant hand-holding or micromanagement - Prefer working reactively instead of proactively seeking improvements - Lack eCommerce experience or familiarity with Shopify Why Join Pearl West - Own Your Impact – Work on high-traffic brands where your improvements directly influence business performance - Growth-Driven Environment – Join a results-obsessed, testing-centric team - Remote-First Culture – Work from anywhere with flexible hours - Learn and Scale – Stay on the cutting edge of Shopify and eCommerce CRO trends Compensation & Benefits - Salary: TBA (commensurate with experience) - Bonus Structure: Performance-based bonuses tied to conversion improvements and project delivery - Work Arrangement: Fully Remote - Health & Wellness Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, mental health support - Additional Perks: Flexible PTO, company retreats, learning stipends Application Process - Submit Your Application – Send your resume, portfolio, and a short note about your favorite CRO project you’ve worked on - Technical Assessment – Complete a brief code challenge and CRO scenario review - Screening Call – Meet with our hiring manager to discuss your experience and fit - Final Interview – Meet with leadership and marketing leads to review priorities and vision
