You are someone who takes pride in learning new technologies, supporting high‑availability platforms, and contributing to a culture of reliability and compliance.<br><br><strong>What You'll Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>Assist with the administration and day to day operational support of Guardian operating systems on HPE NonStop platforms under the guidance of Host Systems Engineer II</li><li>Assist with administration and maintenance of AIX operating systems on IBM Power Systems, including basic system checks, monitoring, and routine operational tasks.</li><li>Support InterSystems Caché and IRIS environments by performing basic operational tasks, monitoring system status, and escalating issues as needed.</li><li>Respond to system alerts and incidents by performing initial troubleshooting and following documented procedures; escalate complex issues to senior staff when required.</li><li>Monitor system performance, availability, and security events using established monitoring tools.</li><li>Participate in scheduled maintenance activities, including patching and updates, following documented change procedures.</li><li>Log, track, update, and resolve service requests and incidents using the enterprise ticketing system in accordance with SLA expectations.</li><li>Follow established system configurations, standards, and architectural guidelines; assist with documentation updates as directed.</li><li>Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, runbooks, and procedures for operational tasks.</li><li>Assist with infrastructure projects and initiatives by performing assigned tasks, testing, documentation, and validation activities.</li><li>Coordinate with internal teams and vendors as directed to support day to day operations and project activities.</li><li>Maintain awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to system operations at a foundational level.</li><li>Participate in an on call rotation with guidance and support from senior engineering staff.</li><li>Perform other job related duties as assigned.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualificiations And Preferences<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, OR equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience. preferred</li><li>5+ years supporting enterprise server environments in systems administration, infrastructure operations, or related IT roles. preferred</li><li>Exposure to enterprise platforms such as IBM Power or HPE NonStop systems is preferred but not required.</li><li>Experience working with UNIX/Linux operating systems; familiarity with AIX or Guardian OS is a plus.</li><li>Exposure to or general familiarity with InterSystems Cache or IRIS databases is desirable.</li><li>Foundational understanding of backup, recovery, monitoring, and availability concepts in enterprise or production environments.</li><li>Experience using ticketing and incident management systems to support infrastructure operations and service requests.</li><li>Basic understanding of system security principles, access controls, and operational best practices in regulated environments.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common infrastructure issues by following documented procedures and escalating complex problems as appropriate.</li><li>Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new platforms, tools, and processes in a mission‑critical, high‑availability environment.</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineering teams, operations staff, and business stakeholders.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Why Join Us<br><br></strong>Golden 1 Credit Union provides its employees a market-competitive and internally equitable total rewards compensation package through a variety of programs.
