This role offers a unique blend of hands‑on technical work, strategic analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration, making it an ideal stepping stone for anyone looking to build a dynamic career in cybersecurity. Key Responsibilities Incident Detection & Response: Monitor security alerts, investigate potential breaches, and execute containment procedures in coordination with senior analysts. Data Entry & Documentation: Accurately record incident details, remediation steps, and post‑mortem findings in our ticketing system (ServiceNow) to maintain a comprehensive audit trail. Risk Assessment: Conduct preliminary risk evaluations for identified threats, categorizing severity and recommending immediate actions. Collaboration with Business Units: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business processes, gather security requirements, and align protective measures with operational goals. Policy & Procedure Development: Assist in drafting and updating security policies, ensuring they reflect current best practices and regulatory standards. Tool Management: Support the configuration and maintenance of security tools such as Proofpoint PhishAlarm, GRC platforms, and endpoint protection suites. Testing & Validation: Participate in system and acceptance testing to verify that security controls are effective and properly integrated. Continuous Learning: Stay current on emerging threats, industry trends, and new technologies, sharing insights with the broader security team. Project Support: Contribute to security‑related projects, providing data entry, analysis, and reporting as needed to meet project timelines and budgets. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Minimum of 1 year of entry‑level experience in a security‑focused role or a related internship. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation. Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including threat vectors, vulnerability management, and incident response lifecycles. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical findings into clear business language. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of productivity and accountability. Preferred Qualifications & Skills Hands‑on experience with security awareness tools such as Proofpoint PhishAlarm. Familiarity with ServiceNow, especially modules related to GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance). Knowledge of industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls. Experience conducting business analysis, process mapping, or workflow optimization. Exposure to agile methodologies and a willingness to adopt flexible, iterative work practices. Previous involvement in capstone projects, case competitions, or academic research focused on cybersecurity. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Core Competencies for Success Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex security incidents, identify root causes, and propose actionable remediation. Collaboration: Strong team player who can build effective relationships with IT, operations, legal, and business partners. Adaptability: Comfortable navigating a rapidly evolving threat landscape and adjusting strategies accordingly. Integrity & Confidentiality: Commitment to handling sensitive information with the utmost discretion. Customer‑Centric Mindset: Understanding that security is an enabler of business goals, not a barrier. Continuous Improvement: Proactive in seeking feedback, learning new tools, and enhancing personal skill sets. Career Growth & Learning Opportunities arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. As a part‑time analyst, you will have access to: Mentorship from senior cybersecurity leaders who will guide your technical and career progression.
