We are hiring for an exciting Sales Development / Inside Sales Consultant role within Cigna Global Health Benefits (GHB), Americas, focused on supporting small and mid-sized multinational employers (SMEs) with globally mobile and expatriate employee populations.

In this role, you will play a critical part in expanding Cigna GHB’s footprint in the U.S. market by identifying, sourcing, and developing high-quality sales opportunities. You will focus on building a strong SME pipeline through proactive prospecting, broker engagement, and in close collaboration with your aligned GHB New Business Sales Manager(s).

As an Inside Sales Consultant, you will partner closely with GHB New Business Sales Managers and local market sales teams, discovering, nurturing, and managing the SME sales funnel. You will develop strong relationships with brokers and key influencers, driving a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities that convert into sustainable new business.

This is a high-growth role on a dynamic team, measured by opportunity generation, pipeline development, and regional growth targets. You will assume ownership of the end-to-end sales cycle for assigned SME opportunities up to a defined revenue threshold. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about consultative B2B sales, relationship management, and global employee health solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a robust pipeline of SME sales opportunities through outbound prospecting using phone, email, video, social media, and collaboration with U.S. GHB sales teams
  • Source and qualify new business opportunities among U.S.-based multinational employers with globally mobile, expatriate, or international employee populations
  • Partner closely with key U.S. and international broker partners to manage, nurture, and advance SME opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to develop SME growth strategies for priority broker partners and geographic markets
  • Take ownership of all SME quotations, ensuring accuracy, internal alignment, and adherence to Cigna GHB processes and service-level timelines
  • Assume full responsibility for the end-to-end sales cycle for SME opportunities up to a defined revenue threshold
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Cigna Global Health Benefits expatriate & business travel medical solutions, articulating product features, global network access, and value proposition to brokers and prospects
  • Support and participate in internal and external sales meetings, broker presentations, and client pitches to drive successful outcomes
  • Partner with Marketing to support regional campaigns, webinars, events, and thought leadership initiatives to raise awareness of Cigna GHB solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to test and refine sales messaging, strengthen the value proposition, and execute go-to-market strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity, activity, and lead qualification data in Salesforce
  • Facilitate pipeline review discussions with Regional Sales leadership, providing reporting and insights on pipeline health and performance
  • Drive attendance and meeting-setting for webinars, conferences, and live events supporting GHB growth initiatives

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieve assigned SME opportunity generation and regional growth targets for Cigna Global Health Benefits
  • Meet or exceed defined productivity, quality, and pipeline coverage standards
  • Maintain strong data integrity and forecasting accuracy within Salesforce

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in B2B sales, inside sales, or outbound prospecting, ideally within insurance, employee benefits, or related professional services
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales or lead-generation targets in an inbound or outbound environment
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling and relationship-based sales approaches
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, Copilot)
  • High energy, self-motivated, and target-driven with a strong desire to succeed in a sales career
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to identify client needs and propose appropriate solutions
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
